With a preface by Luc Panissod, former Secretary-General WOSM (2007-2012) & Special Advisor to the Secretary-General WOSM
The "Jamtrain" book is a real eye-catcher with its 25 wagons and its electric locomotive (BR 193, No. 36190). The hardcover book features official Jamboree logos, scout symbols and texts about the cultural backgrounds of the host countries.
Hartmut Keyler has illustrated these camp badges in a special way. For him, the railroad is a symbol of movement and connection and therefore has great similarities with what Scouts strive for and experience internationally: Scouting - creating connections between people and peoples. The train thus becomes a living, meaningful and representative symbol of everything that Scouting means.
Hartmut Keyler has been a committed scout since 1949 and worked as an architect, designer and caricaturist in Munich. In his book, he has found something like an inner and outer connection and presented it in a special visual way. He has been the foreign representative of the VCP and the Ring of German Scout Associations and a member of the European Scout Committee and the World Scout Committee as well as a member of the World Scout Honors and Awards Committee for many years. As a Scout, he himself took part in a total of 17 Jamborees (the first in Austria in 1951). Probably a record of his own.
